002 ~ A Battle of the Bold and the Sharp; pt 1 [23 Feb 2009|09:01am]
It was a great battle.

I suppose I should start at the beginning, and try my hardest to avoid skipping forward in the story because that wouldn't be good at all. Then I suppose you would have a hard time following and we really don't need that, what we need is complete and utter understanding for this is a story of true importance. At one time, I'm not sure how long ago this actually was for my memory isn't as great as it should be, there lived a young boy whose name is long forgotten. For the case of this story we'll name him Andy (because honestly, I love the name Andy and I think every little boy should be called that). Andy was young, still very naive and unable to comprehend what it truly meant to be in a battle as grand as the one in his near future. For all he knew the only people who fought in battles were those of grand importance, knights and princes, steeds and wonderfully strong beings. Not those a heritage of his own, the son of a poor begger woman and a man who couldn't have known his front end from his behind and thus spent the entirety of his adult life locked away inside the Kings dungeon. Oh but the King, he wasn't a nice person which is something we'll discuss later on during our tale when we get there. For now, I beg of you to keep patience and remain in your seats. Where was I? Oh yes, Andy our young hero. He was no more than 5 feet tall, and didn't weigh any more than a sack of potatoes or two and he wore nothing but what his lonely mother could create using odds and ends that she found throughout the houses she cleaned each and every single day. Andy was fortunate enough to have a mother who loved him dearly and he vowed to do anything she asked of him. He was a sweet boy, he was and there was nothing evil about him. Not like that dreaded king, the one who ruled over all the lands as far as the eye could see, even further than that assuming you didn't have very good eyes and really back during that time it was likely that you didn't because they didn't have laser eye surgery or the technology that we have to make really awesome glasses. It seemed as though everyone in the kingdom was afraid of the king, he was tall and he had really short hair because he knew that keeping it cut that way made him look infinitely tougher than he truly was, for he was a sly king. Intelligence knew him absolutely no bounds and he chose to often use this to his advantage. Especially against stupid little foolish boys. It wasn't until the wonderful and magically beautiful Sabrina Fairchild moved to town that either the king or Andy had any problems with one another.

Sabrina Fairchild was the daughter of a butcher and his beautiful wife. She was Andy's age and she was perfection beyond her years. It was difficult not to look at her golden blond locks, her perfectly olive eyes and her ruby red lips. Upon seeing this girl, the king was sure that such a beauty as hers was deserved to be royalty rather than mixed up in the sludge and waste that was her life in the village. He would visit her every so often to assure her that her life would be better as soon as he could help it and despite her not being very attracted to the king, her mother had told her that this was a good thing and that she should appreciate what the great king was doing for their family. Of course, the young girl didn't believe what her mother believed in and was sure that she was going to spend her entire life unhappy and under appreciated. Especially when sat next to such a horrid and brutal king. She wanted to roll her eyes at the entire idea but she wasn't sure that was her best course of action. It wasn't until she and Andy met by chance in the village square that she truly felt there was something else waiting for her in the world. Andy - well, he was instantly smitten and when the beautiful girl took his hand and pulled him aside into a deep, dark corner to tell him to rescue her from the evil that will present itself in the future, he could do nothing but promise his life to her.

They were easily forgetting, perhaps even insulting the kings intelligence with their private talk and the many that were to come in the future, assuring themselves that absolutely no one had any idea that they were together, that they were planning to escape their wretched kingdom and soon find a new home to be husband and wife, lovers, and a family. Little did Sabrina or Andy know that the king had his man following every move his young love made, to assure that she wasn't up to any dirty dealings with her fellow peasants. When word came that her and Andy had been spending so much time in each other presence, the king decided to invite Sabrina to stay with him in his castle. She denied his invitation but since it really wasn't an invite at all she was made to go and be unhappily locked away in the stone walls of that dreary castle she was to one day call her own. It wasn't until word leaked out that the kings future wife was to stay with him in his home out of sight until the day of their wedding that poor Andy discovered what his love had truly meant when she begged him to rescue her from her evil future. The king had already had plans to destroy this boy who had put thoughts of ridiculous matter into his future wife's head, those thoughts of running away and being together forever and always. He challenged the boy to what was to be the greatest duel in all the land under the accusation that the boy had been a liar and a thief and simply tried to steal the kings heart from his very chest by foolishly convincing Sabrina to run away with him. He then assured the people of his land that while Sabrina had no plans of running away with him, while she spit in this boys face and claimed she lived for the king himself, Andy had plans to steal her away in the dead of night and have his filthy way with her. The village was in an uproar, not because they believed the kings story, but because they knew the truth about Andy and Sabrina's eternal love.

And while I would love to continue, I feel as if I should pause for dramatic effect and allow everyone a chance to think about the potential outcome of this battle. So as of yet, this story is to be continued....

000 ~ a biography [09 Dec 2008|07:00pm]
Benjamin and Mika were only seventeen when they decided that they were ready to spend their entire lives together. It was after graduating from high school that the young couple made the choice to get married young, and remain in each others arms for all of eternity. They were both going to New York for college and they decided to do it right before moving in with one another. The couple married soon after the decision was made, during the summer before their first year of post secondary education. They made one another happy and that was what mattered to them, despite any qualms anyone might have had about the sudden union. They were in love, that was their only excuse. Despite their rushed nuptials, the young couple didn't bother rapidly maturing, they lived their lives as though they were fresh out of high school, going to university. They didn't settle down immediately, start a family. In fact, it was nearly 5 years after they were wed that Mika informed her husband that they were going to be parents and while he wasn't exactly ready he set out to spend the next few months mentally preparing himself, as well as making any necessary preparations that weren't considered emotional ones. At this point in their lives, Mika and Benjamin had left their small apartment in New York City to live overseas in a small, but perfect house in Shrewsbury, England. On the 10th of September, 1991 after what might have been considered a rather long labor, Mika and Benjamin welcomed their newborn son in to the world. They had spent weeks before his birth trying to choose a name for him, when they had finally decided their decision had stuck. He was Seth Osiris Deluca. He was their baby. Their soon-to-be pride and joy.

Life before the age of 5 was easy. He didn't have to do much aside from the basic baby/toddler things. He had to learn to use the potty, a piece of cake. He needed to learn his ABCs and his 123s. Another piece of cake. He didn't show any problems in reading or writing, basic 2+2 math, anything that his parents tried to teach him simple stuck and he remembered it perfectly. He took after his father like that, he was an easy learner. The knowledge went in and never came back out again, it was difficult to explain to anyone who wasn't Benjamin. He understood the way his son's brain functioned, even if he couldn't explain it with any real meaning aside from the fact that he was just... a smart child. It wasn't really until his parents told him that they were going to bring another baby into the family that the rebellion really began. Though his parents had been convinced that their baby boy would be happy with this, they were nothing but wrong. He set out to find a way to convince them that they didn't need another child, that he was their baby and that he would always be their baby. It was too late, and while Seth was unhappily awaiting the arrival of his sibling, his parents continued to hope that eventually he would understand that it was too late, and his sibling was already coming. He didn't understand. No one had bothered to explain it to him. He continued to boycott the whole idea of his parents bringing another baby home, he would cross his arms over his chest, stomp around, cry, pout, absolutely nothing worked. It wasn't until his parents came home the day after the birth of their daughter that he truly accepted his fate. He was forever to be cast off into the world of unknown children that his friends at the play park were always talking about. For nearly three months after the birth of his little sister, Seth chose to remain silent. Not one single word left his mouth when he was in the company of others.

Of course, What he didn't expect was to find his baby sister intriguing. She giggled at everything, cried whenever she felt like it, she was pink and squishy. It didn't take much longer than the three months of the silent treatment for him to get used to having her around. He didn't vow to protect her like most big brothers would have but he was still very interested in how she functioned, what she did and why she did it. Within some time, he came to the conclusion that she wasn't a bad thing and continued on with his life as he had before the terror of being replaced hit.

Growing up, Seth had always been what one might consider a loner. He and the other kids in his neighborhood didn't necessarily get along with one another. They all had clashing interests as well as clashing personalities. His peers were more interested in being menaces, dirtying up their clothes while chasing girls through the streets and school yard. They preferred mindless video games and tv drama over their education or reading a book. Seth opted to remain inside, rather than joining them in their adventures. It was a concern that he wasn't making friends, his parents worried constantly that he might be lonely, that the other children might not have wanted to play with him rather than having it the other way around. He eventually told them otherwise. He didn't want to play with them, he was happier inside where it was warm, and where he could just sit around. He wasn't the most active of children. By the time he was 14 his entire childhood had passed before he could even notice. It wasn't until then that he made the choice to pull himself away from his quiet, difficult personality only to adopt one that was more accepting of others, more friendly and much more welcoming of new and exciting experiences. He became the person people wanted him to be, friendly, playful but still kept up with his studies. It wasn't long after his change that he discovered a few things about being social. One: People weren't quite as bad as they came across as and secondly: There was a lot of trouble on group of 14 year old boys could get into without ever getting caught. Drugs, alcohol, everything that they could think of. At first, he was weary, he wasn't sure that he was ready to go so deep into socialization but once he had put the facts out in front of him, he realized it wasn't such a bad idea. Or, rather, he had convinced himself that it was a good idea.

Less than a year after Seth's first attempt at being a normal teenager, his father and mother announced to their children that they were leaving England to, much to their childrens dismay, moving to the United States of America. Key West to be exact. A career opportunity, that's what they called it. His father had been offered a job at a small, personal clinic in Florida and he was beyond thrilled to accept the position. Within the month, the family had packed up everything they owned and left their home in Shrewsbury for a new one in the warm weather. New friends to make, new classes to take, new adventures to be had. This was going to be interesting.

facts:
upon finishing high school, seth plans to attend Columbia University, where he plans to get a degree in archaeology and ancient civilizations. ever since he was a little boy his plans have always been to study the pyramids in egypt. he refuses to change his mind.
he thinks his parents are awesome, no matter how strict they can be. they're just cool people, or at least he's pretty sure they must be to have had a son like himself.
he is a complete insomniac. when he does finally fall asleep it's after days of remaining awake, not necessarily lifeless. he doesn't complain, it just gives him more time to do things.
he is rarely every sober. when he is, it's really noticeable. he's not as calm and quiet as he is when he is high, he's actually really rambunctious and loud.
he absolutely does not care what anyone has to say about him, his habits, his grades, his study methods. he likes who he is, he's proud of himself and he knows his parents are proud of him too. that's what is important.
he has a stuffed monkey named michael with whom he is attached to. during school, michael is usually stuffed into the bottom of seth's back pack. while at home he keeps him proudly displayed on his bed.
his favorite movies include the mummy, planet of the apes, dazed and confused and lord of the rings. his least favorite movie of all time is the notebook though he can sit through the whole thing without falling asleep as long as he is making fun of the old man.
as far as music goes, he's not picky. he loves everything that touches his ears so long as he can bob his head to it.
